The Hamden Miners split a double-header against the Southington Black Knights

Even though the Hamden Miners collected eight hits to the Southington Black Knights' five, they still fell 6-3 in Game 1. The Southington Black Knights got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ryan Kilpatrick hit a sacrifice fly, and Savier Paige grounded out, each scoring one run.
The Southington Black Knights added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Hamden committed an error, and the Southington Black Knights scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.
Paige drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Southington Black Knights with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-3 on the day.

Then in Game 2, Hamden got on the board in the third inning after Carlos Reyes singled, scoring one run.
Brycen Voisine grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped the Southington Black Knights tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.
In the top of the seventh, Hamden broke up the tie when Tyler DeCrescenzo homered to center field, scoring three runs. Then a single by Kyle Cyr followed to extend the lead to 5-1.
Sawyer Gravel earned the win for Hamden. The reliever allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking none. Sawyer DiMatteo began the game for Hamden. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one. John Slais collected the save.
Hamden collected nine hits in the game. DeCrescenzo led Hamden with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The third baseman went 2-for-3 in the Game 2 win.
