Miners Season Ends Following Shut Out Vs. Sluggers

The 2026 campaign for the Hamden Miners has come to a close following their 6-0 loss to the Silk City Sluggers in the opening round of the CCBL playoffs on Wednesday evening.
It was a tough go at the plate for Hamden as the team combined for five hits (one extra base hit) and drawing a single walk while failing to put up a run. Designated hitter Devon McMorris was the only hitter to record a multi-hit game. Center fielder Kyle Cyr smacked a double for the team’s only extra base hit of the evening.
Dylan Ellison threw 3 ⅓ innings for Hamden, surrendering five hits and five runs (three earned) in the loss. He was relieved by Jack Lewis and Griffin McCarroll, who combined to allow one run in their efforts.
The Miners never got the ball rolling on offense, only reaching scoring position just once after Cyr’s double. The Sluggers pulled away in the game after putting up three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
With their season coming to a close, the Hamden Miners look forward to their 2027 season with a young core coming fresh off a playoff appearance in the CCBL.
