The Hamden Miners lost to 5 Star CT Committed 18U 9-4 on Thursday.

5 Star CT Committed 18U got on the board in the bottom of the second inning and 5 Star CT Committed 18U scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.

Hamden jumped into the lead in the top of the third when Carlos Reyes singled, scoring two runs, and None induced Aiden Jovia to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Adam Guenther pitched three innings in relief for the Hamden Miners. The hurler gave up three hits and five runs (two earned) while striking out two and walking five. Sean Nowicky took the loss for Hamden. The reliever went one inning, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out one and walking none. Luke Ryan stepped on the hill first for Hamden. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and two runs over two innings, striking out none and walking four.

Ryan Balzano, Carlos Reyes, Andrew Flamini, and Colin LaRosa each collected one hit for the Hamden Miners. Aiden Jovia led the team with one run batted in. The Hamden Miners had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. John Golebieski and Mike Desroches led the team with two free passes each. Hamden turned one double play in the game.
