In a game with 17 combined hits and 20 runs, the Miners dropped their matchup against the Barnums on Tuesday evening. This is Hamden’s third straight game plating at least seven runs.
A Kyle Cyr single gave the Miners an initial 1-0 lead in the first before quickly falling behind 6-1. An eventful fourth inning for Hamden eventually led to Hamden tying the game at six apiece.
After quickly loading the bases to begin the inning, Tyler Kornacki brought in two with his RBI double to cut the Bridgeport lead in half. A batter later, Matthew Mangini brought home another two after a ground ball got past the Bridgeport infield. Another error while Will Beneditti was hitting helped Hamden tie the game at six in the fourth.
Bridgeport responded a half inning later by unleashing five straight runs to regain the lead as they wouldn’t look back to hold on for a 13-7 win. The McCarroll brothers, Mason and Griffin, and Luke Ryan represented the Miners bullpen in the contest.
