On the road Sunday evening, the Miners got started with the bats early and often en route to their 5-3 win over the Silverbacks. Patient approaches at the plate and clutch pitching ensured for a Hamden victory.

Hamden opened up the game with three straight walks. With the bases loaded, Brady Dammling drove in Will Benedetti after a Waterbury error to take a 1-0 lead. After Luca Faulkner got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, AJ Aurora singled to drive home another two runs to extend the lead to 4-0.

The Silverbacks would tack on two runs in the bottom half of the inning off Miners starter Sawyer DiMatteo, however, he remained composed en route to his win. DiMatteo went four innings while striking out three, allowing four hits and three runs (one earned).

Dammling came through in another opportunity in the fifth inning with his RBI single to bring home Devon McMorris to add insurance to their lead.

Griffin McCarroll and Aaron McIntire relieved DiMatteo with three innings of shutout relief, not allowing a hit in that same span.

Hamden wraps up their road trip with a matchup Monday evening in Bridgeport vs. the Barnums.
