Errors Haunt Hamden, Fall Short to West Haven

The Sailors defeated the Miners Wednesday evening 6-3 as West Haven’s reigning Pitcher of the Week Collin Tenney built on his impressive week with another strong outing. Four errors throughout the game were the difference in the loss for Hamden
Trailing 2-0 for most of the game, Hamden tied the game after freshman catcher Nick Feinstein doubled to drive home Anthony Aurora and Rocco DeMaio.
Once again finding themselves trailing late, the Miners tied the game once again after Devon McMorris drove in reigning Player of the Week Mike Spad to knot the game at 3.
West Haven would eventually pull forward in the seventh and not look back as two crucial Hamden errors dug them too deep of a hole to get out of.
On the mound, freshman Quinn Bergin started the game and delivered three innings while allowing zero earned runs. Joshua Santiago and DeMaio each threw two innings of relief as Adam McIntire also added an inning on the mound.
Centerfielder Will Bendetti continued his solid stretch of play as he added a hit and stole two bases during the contest.
It’ll be a third straight test on the road for Hamden as they gear up to face the Danbury Lakehounds on Friday evening.
