Ellison and Cyr Take Home Hamden’s Player of the Week Honors

In four games in the week of June 28 to July 3, two Hamden Miners players stepped up to come out victorious in two games. Senior starting pitcher Dylan Ellison and junior outfielder Kyle Cyr stepped up to steer Hamden to a pair of wins.
Ellison started the Miners week on the mound. Though they lost Monday night to the Southington Black Knights, Ellison tossed six innings of shutout ball. He allowed only two base hits and a walk while striking out four on 71 pitches. The performance allowed Ellison to take home the Hamden Pitcher of the Week Award.
Cyr went 3/8 during the course of the week, carrying a .375/.375/.375 slash line while adding two RBIs and a stolen base. He served as the engine of the Hamden offense during the stretch. The hitting heroics granted him Hamden’s Hitter of the Week Award.
The two ballplayers will look to continue their recent success as Hamden lines up for four more games this upcoming week.
