DiMatteo and McMorris Highlight Hamden Player of the Week Honors

From July 20 to July 26, two ballplayers stood out for Hamden during their playoff push. On the mound, Sawyer DiMatteo shined in his outing earning himself the Miners Pitcher of the Week Award. On the offensive side of the ball, Devon McMorris and his hot bat led to his Player of the Week Award for the club.
On the July 20 matchup vs. Waterbury, DiMatteo was perfect in his three innings of work, striking out two while only tossing 32 pitches. Zeros across his statline helped propel the Miners to a dominating 12-0 win in five innings over the Silverbacks.
Designated hitter Devon McMorris went 3/7 at the plate over the course of the week, tallying a double, an RBI, scoring a run and stealing two bases en route to a .500/.571/.667 slashline. The offensive performance rightfully earned him the Miners Player of the Week Award.
