Bergin and Cyr Take Home Hamden’s Player of the Week Awards

The results may not have been in favor of the Miners in their three games from July 5 to July 11, however, it doesn’t take away the spotlight from two of their ballplayers.
Freshman pitcher Quinn Bergin earned Hamden’s Pitcher of the Week honors while junior outfielder Kyle Cyr earned the team’s Player of the Week.
Bergin tamed the West Haven bats in his start against them on July 8. The first-year right hander threw three innings while allowing one run (unearned) and only three hits in the contest. Bergin continues to make a quick impact on Hamden’s pitching staff in his first year.
Western New England University outfielder Kyle Cyr went 3/4 on the week, including an extra base hit. He drove in a run and stole a base as well as slashing .750/.833/1.000 on the week. Furthermore, he was honored by being selected to his first CCBL All-Star team.
